Earl William Ralya, age 93, of Grand Haven and Pentwater, MI, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Dayspring Assisted Living in Norton Shores. He was born on April 8, 1930, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Harold and Ida (Stille) Ralya. Earl married Shirley Sheridan on August 16, 1952, in Allendale, MI.
Earl was a lifetime member of United Lutheran Church in West Olive. He proudly served in the US Army Reserves and was a member of Ravenna American Legion Sherman Moore Post #297. Earl was the owner of Earl’s Used Cars and South Shore Lodge of Twin Lakes. Earl served on the Robinson Township Board of Trustees for many years and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting of all types, especially deer hunting. He and Shirley especially enjoyed their retirement spending time in Florida during the winter months.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dayspring Assisted Living and Harbor Hospice for their loving care of Earl during his time there.
Earl will be remembered and missed by his loving wife of 71 years, Shirley; and their four children: daughters, Cindy Chattulani of Spring Lake, and Sandy Ralya of Pentwater; sons, Mark (Cheryl) Ralya and Tim Ralya, all of Grand Haven; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Dolores Collins.
He was preceded in death by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The Funeral Service for Earl will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, at United Lutheran Church, with Pastor John Hansen officiating. Visitations will be held on Sunday, March 3rd, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, as well as one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Interment will be at Robinson township Cemetery.
